Join us at CDAH for a screening of What We Choose To Remember. Filmed on the 50th anniversary of the FLQ crisis What We Choose To Remember is a timely reminder of the turbulent years of national affirmation that resulted in hundreds of thousands leaving Quebec. The film interviews members of families that chose to remain in Quebec as well as newer immigrants whose families arrived in successive waves of immigration. What We Choose To Remember presents an engaging portrait of Quebec’s English-speaking communities that is far more complex and accurate than the nationalist stereotype of the ‘Rich Anglo Boss.’
What We Choose To Remember has been presented in communities in every region of Quebec since it was released at the Hudson Film Festival in May 2022. The screening will be followed by a lively conservation and Q&A with filmmaker Guy Rex Rodgers.
